On Wednesday, April 29, NGHL member Lovell Academy celebrated a remarkable achievement as its 19U High School and 16U Tier I teams were honored by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for capturing the 2026 USA Hockey National Championship.

In recognition of their accomplishments, the student-athletes were invited to tour the historic Massachusetts State House and received official letters of commendation. Throughout the day, the players explored some of the building’s most iconic landmarks, including the Hall of Flags and the wall dedicated to influential women in Massachusetts history.

The teams also had the opportunity to meet with Representative David DeCoste on the grand staircase before continuing into the Senate Chamber, where Senator John Keenan welcomed the group and shared stories about the chamber’s rich history. He even revealed a fun piece of trivia — the exact center of the Senate floor is considered the “official” GPS point of Boston.

The memorable visit concluded in the House of Representatives, where the teams gathered for photos on the House floor alongside Representative DeCoste and Representative David Biele, who shares a hometown connection with Lovell Academy junior Maddie Minucci.

What an unforgettable day of recognition and celebration for these championship athletes — a fitting honor for their hard work, dedication, and success on the national stage. Congratulations, ladies!
